The calculation considers necessities like housing, utilities, groceries, and transportation, while also allowing room for discretionary spending and savings. Oklahoma remains relatively affordable compared with many states, including neighboring Texas, where the estimated income needed is over $90,000.
For the housing market, Oklahoma’s lower cost of living continues to be a selling point, even as rising everyday expenses put more pressure on household budgets.
